Puma Shoes

Puma AG Rudolf Dassler Sport, officially branded as PUMA, is a major German multinational company that produces high-end athletic shoes, lifestyle footwear and other sportswear. Formed in 1924 as Gebrüder Dassler Schuhfabrik by Adolf and Rudolf Dassler, relationships between the two brothers deteriorated until the two agreed to split in 1948, forming two separate entities, Adidas and Puma. Puma is currently based in Herzogenaurach, Germany.

The company is known for its football shoes and has sponsored acclaimed footballers, including Pelé, Eusébio, Johan Cruijff, Enzo Francescoli, Diego Maradona, Lothar Matthäus, Kenny Dalglish, Didier Deschamps and Gianluigi Buffon. Puma is also the sponsor of the Jamaican track athlete Usain Bolt. In the United States, the company is probably best known for the suede basketball shoe it introduced in 1968, which eventually bore the name of New York Knicks basketball star Walt "Clyde" Frazier, and for its endorsement partnership with Joe Namath.

Following the split from his brother, Rudolf Dassler originally registered the new-established company as Ruda, but later changed to Puma.[3]:31 Puma's earliest logo consisted of a square and beast jumping through a D, which was registered, along with the company's name, in 1948. Puma's shoe designs feature the distinctive "Formstripe",[3]:33 with clothing and other products having the logo printed on them.

The company also offers lines shoes and sports clothing, designed by Lamine Kouyate, Amy Garbers and others. Since 1996 Puma has intensified its activities in the United States. Puma owns 25% of American brand sports clothing maker Logo Athletic, which is licensed by American professional basketball and association football leagues. Since 2007 Puma AG has been part of the French luxury group PPR.

Home

Sitting at our dining room table in Cusco, and it feels good to be home.

Home.

That word is so weird.

I have lived in Peru for almost nine months, but most of that time, I didn’t have a home. The house I lived in for the first three months was always “my host family’s house.” And Zamacola was never home, that’s for sure. But I did have family there. And it was incredibly hard to say goodbye to them Saturday night.

Friday night was our graduation. Everybody got dressed up, we marched in, and then we had the whole ceremony where we received our diplomas and they prayed for us and our ministry, and basically sent us out.

Saturday morning we had to wake up early and pack. Once I saw my stuff all packed up and put in the moving truck, it became real to me that we were leaving.

And Saturday night we had to say goodbye to our Arequipa family whom we have been with since L.A. and also the Puno group, who we have been on this journey with since they got here in May and moved in with us in August. And Cailyn Stevens, the girl who never cries, was an absolute squallbag. Because as Jen (the cluster mom for the Arequipa group) said, it is not natural to rip a family apart like that.

But Sunday morning we arrived in Cusco. We cleaned and shopped, which is actually what we’ve done everyday in Cusco. Monday, are stuff arrived, and on time! This was a huge step toward homey-ness, since the night before we slept on the cold, hard floor of a very empty house. But we were still without toilet seats until Tuesday night.

And Tuesday night, we had a family meal together, and it really did feel like home!

Wags 'n Whiskers - Black and White challenge plus there's a change in the challenges!

Happy Friday!!! I'm super excited about our new challenge from Wags 'n Whiskers today!! Our fabulously talented Angelique has asked us to make a black and white project.  I'm so excited becuase it's something I've never tried before. I honestly didn't know if I'd be able to color an entire scene with just six different markers all in the same color family! But I did it!  What do you think? I used the adorable Sammie's Surprise along with a Magnolia background image and a Tim Holtz fence die, and I colored them all with the cool greys.  Now while I went the cutesy route, you have GOT to see the amazing creations my Diva sisters came up with!!!!  I was astounded at how gorgeous a black and white card could be!!  Do yourself a favor and go take a peek!

I also wanted to let you know that there has been a change in the way the Wags 'n Whiskers challenge is run! Delightful Challenges - Round and Round along with a new mini-release

Hello friends! We've almost made it to the weekend! Is everyone ready for all little ones this weekend? Chris wants to be a ghost, and Bennie is a frog this year. LOL! I can't wait to see them all dressed up. So do you get all dressed up for Halloween?

With it being Thursday, it's time for a new challenge from Delightful Challenges, and this week it's "round and round".  I used this adorable image called Gingerbread Cookie from Digital Delights by Louby Loo. Isn't she too cute??!!  The image is colored with Copic markers. I also used glossy accents on the icing. For my "round and round", I used the loops MS punch around the page set.

Cardstock is Bazzill, PP is from Nitwits, and the only other thing I added was a couple bows made from May Arts silk ribbon that's always available over at Stamp and Create!!  Please be sure and visit Delightful Challenges to see the rest of the DT creations, then we'd love it if you would join us in the challenge.

Also, Wendy has a brand new mini release of stamp set called "A Child is Born". Please be sure and check out all the fabulous creations made with this set!

Thanks so much for stopping by to see me today, and hope to see you back again soon! Hugs!

Iran hybrid car ranks third in 2010 EHI

A hybrid car designed and made by Iranian students has ranked third in the 2010 Formula Electric and Hybrid Italy (EHI) held in the city of Turin.

Hakhamanesh H.V., made by Iran's Sharif University students, took part in the event's class 2H categories and stood third after mecc-H2 and PicoFarad Racing Team by Italy's Polytechnic University of Milan and Turin respectively.

Iran's four-wheel automobile has a composite body, weights 600 kilograms and can travel up to 90 kilometers an hour, ISNA reported.

The vehicle's eight batteries can be charged by urban electricity; it is almost noiseless and does not pollute.

EHI is an international competitive and sports event found by the Assiciazione Tecnica Dell'Automobile in 2005 in an effort to promote innovative activities in academic institutions across the world, which can improve the energy efficiency of vehicles supplied by different energy sources.

International teams from universities and technical institutions take part with vehicles completely designed and made by them. Their products are tested for endurance, acceleration, energy consumption, autocross and climbing abilities.

The teams are then evaluated and awarded by the Technical Committee, based on the characteristics and performance of their vehicles, their level of innovation and industrial potentials.

The 2010 edition of the Formula Electric and Hybrid Italy (EHI) was held from October 7 to 10.
To the woods, to the woods!
Us girls needed some fresh air today, so made the most out of the 436 acre forest behind out flat and went out for a walk. It was pleasent, climbed some trees and looked at all the wild fungi. Just took some pictures from my phone.

Wimbledon Bootsale.
Couple weeks back went to Wimbledon Bootsale and got some proper cool stuff. I really have a thing for old packaging and vintage kitsch objects so when I found really old Lux laundry soap still in it's 1970s packaging and 'Little Forks' from the 1950s, I had a field day. Also bought a sheep skin coat that is too big, and not in a good way so will put on ebay.

a 'D' was last used in the 1970s and was the equivilant to todays penny.

miniture versions of things are the way to my heart.

love a good owl ornament...

not sure on artist, or date but an original from Canada and was from a collection of other paintings of other ladies, felt bad not buying the red head.
